Peter Charlie is an interesting read. It's an account of life aboard an anti-submarine patrol craft during World War 2 in the Pacific. As a small ship with a specialized duty you won't find lots of intense battles. They have some small ones. Instead, you will find lots about the challenges of keeping the ship running and supplied, daily life aboard, and the places they visited. If you've wondered what daily life in the World War 2 navy was like for an ancestor, this is a good read. THe Pacific War actually did more to cement USA World Leadership than the European Alliances--EXCEPT for Truman & Marshall creating the New Europe with the Marshall Plan.
